Less expensive than any other study abroad program.

We cut out the frills to give you the most meaningful, highest-impact study abroad. Students get a simple, straightforward class schedule with free time for experiential learning: a less rigid class structure means more time for Pure Study Abroad.

Pure Study Abroad

Why do it?

  • Most affordable. Pure Study Abroad purposely cuts out all the frills of a normal university study abroad program to offer you the least expensive option on the market.  We purposely choose NOT to book 5-star hotels or employ tenured American professors so that we can bring you a more authentic and cheaper study abroad experience.
  • Most free time. Class is limited to 3 hours per day, batched together every morning in order to allow students to organize their free time into other productive activities.  Whether you're trying to visit every local monument, learn coding in your free time, or run an independent research project, Pure Study Abroad will be a great fit for your self-driven plans.
  • Most adventure. Pure Study Abroad is no frills, just adventure.  Students are led on a weekly excursion that requires an adventurous spirit, but also encouraged to plan their own adventures in the extra free time the program offers.

Housing is provided for students and accommodation varies based on availability. Fellows should expect to share a double-room with another student of the same gender while abroad. Specific details about your housing location will be available approximately a month before your program start date.

A light breakfast of locally available food is provided by Pure Study Abroad every day of the week, as well as two group dinners at restaurants each week and more meals during group excursions. For most lunches, students buy and prepare their own food or stop by a local cafe. We cannot accommodate special dietary needs for group meals, and remember: in general special diets are more difficult to follow overseas

Pure Study Abroad provides transportation for certain aspects of the program, including daily transport to and from the classroom and to off-site excursions that are mandatory Pure Study Abroad group events. Fellows are free to plan personal travel on weekends, which our program fee does not cover.

One of the best things about traveling is experiencing international cuisine, immersing yourself in local culture, and exploring the breath-taking natural beauty of islands. Pure Study Abroad incorporates all of these things into the program schedule. Depending on your program dates, excursions may include hiking, beach trips, attending festivals, visiting historical sites, national parks, and more!
